Intermittent issues are difficult to troubleshoot. The following may be able to help to determine the issue.
1. If you are able to receive some messages, but not others-
A.You can receive from only your own domain, but not from an outside account may be a spam blocking issue.
B.The email account might be getting full, this means you might be able to get a small sized email, but a larger email may be rejected.
C.The email account might have a spam filter.
D.There could be DNS or routing issues.
E.There is a problem with the mail server queue processing.
F.The person(s) sending to you is having a problem with their system.
2. If you are able to send some messages, but not others-
A.The IP address you are sending from, might be blacklisted.
B.The email you are attempting to send is too large. Many providers have a size limit for sending.
C.You are sending to too many people. Many providers have a limit on the number of emails that you can send to.
D.There may be a high mail queue on the server or the processing of the mail queue is not working properly
E.The person(s) you are sending is having a problem with their system.
